Thomas C. "Tom" Schmidt

Age 74, of Troy Hill, passed away on Friday, February 27, 2026. Beloved husband of Joanne F. (Stanek) Schmidt; loving father of Adam T. Schmidt and Shannon (Fred) Hamilton; dear loving grandfather of Bianca R. Schmidt and Augustus J. Schmidt; dear brother of Linda (Dan-deceased) Campbell, Edward (Sharon) Schmidt and the late Rosemarie Schmidt. Family and friends will be received 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., on Monday, March 2, 2026 at the HUGHES FUNERAL HOME, INC., 1501 Lowrie Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15212-Troy Hill. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m., on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, in Most Holy Name Church, 1520 Claim Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15212-Troy Hill. Tom was a graduate of North Catholic High School- Class of 1969, and worked for the city of Pittsburgh for over 40 years in the Public Works Department as a Truck Driver, doing everything from changing tires on fire trucks to salting the streets of Pittsburgh. Joanne, Adam, Shannon, Bianca, and Augustus were the loves of his life. Tom's favorite place on earth was his cottage in Zelienople.
