Richard E. “Rich” Dering
Age 71, of Reserve Township, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 30, 2025. Dear son of the late Robert Dering and Jeraldine Dering Harris; loving husband of Karen A. (Huber) Dering for 50 years and one day; loving father of Carrie (Steven) Zinger and Robert (Christina) Dering. His grandchildren Macie Zinger and Jace Dering lit up his smile. He was the best pap. Rich is the brother of Robert (Kevin) Dering, Jerry (Amy) Dering, George Dering, Rachel (Fred) Boory, Ruth Dering and the late Jean Dering; he was the son in-law of the late Robert and Evelyn Huber; brother In-law of Roberta (Chuck) Rodger, Janet (and the late Rick) Anesin, and the late Nancy (Ed-surviving) Schreiber, and the late Ken (Jan) Huber. Rich was loved by many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was the best treat giver to Carson, Lady, and Oliver. He was a proud employee of Smithfield Foods for over 40 years and enjoyed retirement for six years. Family and friends will be received from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Perrysville, 920 Perry Highway, Pittsburgh, PA 15229, where a Memorial Service will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers Rich’s family respectfully request memorial contributions be made to St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Perrysville, 920 Perry Highway, Pittsburgh, PA 15229.
