Joseph Charles Lucas, age 88, also known through the years as "Sonny", "Luke" and "Joe", passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 8, 2022. Joe grew up in the Spring Garden area of Pittsburgh and also resided in Reserve Township and Ross Township communities. He is survived by his daughter, Donna J. (Jeff) Faulkner of Shaler Township, PA and son Douglas J. (Shelley) Lucas of Cranberry Township, PA. He is also the proud grandfather of four grandchildren: Jason Faulkner, Shaler Township, PA; Eric Faulkner, Charleston, SC; Devin Lucas, Ross Township, PA and Jeremy Lucas, McCandless, PA. He is also survived by extended families in Pennsylvania and California. Joe was preceded in death by his father, Joseph A. Lucas, of Shaler Township, PA and his mother Helen Ayers of Hawthorne, CA, a sister, the late Carol J. Fectzo of Orange County, CA, and son Donald J. (Cheryl-surviving) Lucas of McCandless, PA. Joe graduated from North Catholic High School. He worked at multiple companies in his career including United Engineering & Foundry Company in Lawrenceville, PA and Miller Printing Equipment Corporation located on Reedsdale Street on the North Side. After working as a machinist throughout his life, he retired in 1996, and settled into enjoying 26 years of retirement!! He was a former member of Most Holy Name Parish and St. Anthony's Lyceum, Troy Hill. Funeral Services will be held privately. Condolences can be posted on Joe's tribute wall at www.hughesfhinc.com.
