Esther Nist, 94, of Pittsburgh, passed away peacefully in the early hours of Monday, March 9, 2026. Born in Spring Garden, PA, she was preceded in death by her dear husband, Louis C. Nist. Loving mother of Richard (Pam) Nist and the late Robert (Jeanne-surviving) Nist; loving grandmother of Sarah (Jon) Mihalic and David (Alisha) Nist; proud great-grandmother of Tyler Nist, Leah Mihalic, Liam Nist and Joni Mihalic. Family and friends will be received from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 13, 2026, at HUGHES FUNERAL HOME, INC., 1501 Lowrie Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15212-Troy Hill. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Esther’s beloved church, Most Holy Name, 1520 Claim Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15212. (Everyone please meet at the church).  Private Burial to follow.
