EDWARD E. "SLEW" HEINL
Age 88, of Troy Hill, passed peacefully on his own terms, on Monday, August 18, 2025. Beloved husband of the late Dorothy A. “Dotty” (Hahn) Heinl; loving father of Leslie Heinl and Kelly (Ron) Mazur; loving grandfather of Ashley A. (Todd) Binford; dear great-grandfather of Maeley and Mazey Binford; dear brother of the late Jean Mahler and Joseph Heinl; also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Family and friends will be received from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at the HUGHES FUNERAL HOME, INC., 1501 Lowrie Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15212-Troy Hill. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., on Thursday, August 21, 2025, in St. Michael & All Angels Lutheran Church, 1286 Spring Garden Avenue, Pgh., PA 15212, (EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH). Slew’s greatest joy was "His Girls Dotty, Leslie, Kelly, Ashley, Maeley and Mazey." Slew was a lifetime member of the Teamsters Local #249, and current President of Local #249 Retirees. He was a lifelong resident of Troy Hill who was active in his community, and in Girls Softball and Boys Baseball. In lieu of flowers his family respectfully request donations in his memory be made to St. Michael & All Angels Lutheran Church, 1286 Spring Garden Avenue, Pgh., PA 15212.
