BERNICE M. (WAGNER) DIEGELMAN
Age 93, of Reserve Twp., formerly of Etna, passed away on Tuesday, September 21, 2021. Daughter of the late Ambrose and Anastasia (Schmitt) Wagner; beloved wife of the late Frank Joseph Diegelman; loving mother of Sandra (Richard) Klein, Shirley Diegelman and the late William Joseph (surviving wife Diane) Diegelman; loving grandmother of Pamela (James) Noden, Paula (Joel) Quiles, Amy Diegelman, Douglas (Kelly) Diegelman, Andrew Diegelman, Samantha (Tony) Steele and the late Patricia Lynn Klein; loving great-grandmother of Caleb, Owen, Ella, Brady, Anna and Blakesley; dear sister of the late Dorothy Dickson, Albert, Charles, Joseph, Richard and Kenneth Wagner. Bernice “Bernie” worked as a telephone operator for Bell Telephone after high school. She enjoyed being a school crossing guard and working at her church while her children were growing up. Later on in her life she worked in restaurants and then came to be a kitchen worker at Max’s Allegheny Tavern which was owned by her son, Bill. She frequently visited family members who were ill in the hospital or nursing home and would sit for hours to provide company because she never wanted anyone to feel lonely. She enjoyed cooking , making her famous Sunday Dinners- the highlight of the week and being a tremendous Pittsburgh Steelers Fan. She liked to travel with her husband, especially to the beach. When not busy she always had a book to read or liked to sit out on her porch on warm summer evenings and talk with family and friends for hours. Family and friends will be received on Saturday, October 2, 2021, from 9:00 a.m until 10 a.m. in St. Matthew Parish at St. Aloysius Church, 3616 Mt, Troy Rd., Pittsburgh, PA 15212 (Reserve Twp.), where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Following her funeral her family will he having a memorial luncheon for her at Max's Allegheny Tavern, 537 Suismon Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15212, if you plan on attending the luncheon would you kindly RSVP to sandrakl@comcast.net.
