Rose M. (Sommer) Snyder

Age 94, formerly of Troy Hill, passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2017. Beloved wife of the late Joseph W. Snyder; dear mother of Karen Snyder (Russell Ciolli), Mary Boglitz, Joseph A. (MaryAnn) Snyder, Jean (Thomas) Austin, Michael W. (Linda) Snyder, Francis (Lynette) Snyder, Eileen (Scott) Barnard, Lori (Richard) Harris and the late Sanne Swierkosz; also survived by 20 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren; dear sister of Marie Stickle and was preceded in death by six brothers. Family to receive friends 2-8 p.m. MONDAY ONLY at the HUGHES FUNERAL HOME, INC. 1501 Lowrie Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15212-Troy Hill. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in Most Holy Name Church -Troy Hill. Rose was a senior athlete  and participated in the senior Olympics for 20 years, winning hundreds of medals. She also volunteered in many church and community activities and especially enjoyed serving as an aide for special education CCD classes at Most Holy Name Church.
