Frederick Anthony "Pete" Weis

Of Reserve Twp., formerly of Troy Hill passed away peacefully on Thursday May 18, 2017. He was born on March 28, 1928 in Pittsburgh. Loving Husband of Dolores "Dolly" (Gloeckl) Weis for 63 years.  Beloved father to Frederick J. (Terri) of McCandless Twp., Mary Jo Dunne (Jeff) of Southport, CT, Dawna Tremel (Jim) of Shaler Twp., Janet Zupen (Mark) of Ross Twp., Lisa Brozey (Chris) of Dowingtown, PA, John P. of Ross Twp. and Christi Zelis (Dave) of York, PA.  Cherished Pap of Katie Dunne Wilkinson (Augie), Chelsea Dunne Thurston (Stephen) , Morgan Dunne, Zack Weis, Marissa Zupen, Matthew and Laura Brozey, Peter, Joseph, Mary and Anthony Weis. Beloved Great Pap of Emma and Melody Wilkinson.  Treasured son of the late Frederick J. and Mary A.(Baumgartner) Weis of Troy Hill. Memorable brother of the late Joan Baysek (Edward deceased), the late Mary Ann Graper (Richard deceased), John (Joan) of Tennessee, the late Audrey Coward (William deceased), and the late Barbara (Weis) Schouchoff. Fred retired for the City of Pittsburgh Fire Department at the rank of Lieutenant in 1981. At every House, he was known for his culinary skills. He loved his job and his fellow firefighter brothers. During the Korean conflict he served with 175th M.P. Battalion Co. C in Stuttgart Germany. he faithfully attended annual reunions and maintained close friendships with his Army buddies.  He was a member of Shaler VFW Post 9199, belonged to St. Anthony's Lyceum, Kegler's Bowling League, and was an Alumnus of North Catholic High School. Relatives and friends will be received on Thursday, May 25, 2017 between Noon and 8 p.m. at the HUGHES FUNERAL HOME, INC. 1501 Lowrie Street, Pgh., PA 15212-Troy Hill. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Anthony's Chapel-Most Holy Name Parish, 1700 Harpster street, Pgh., PA 15212-Troy Hill on Friday May 26, 2017 at 11:00 a.m..
