Eileen C. (Uhlig) Wehner
Eileen C. (Uhlig) Wehner, 74, of Troy Hill, passed away on Monday, August 5, 2019. Born on February 24, 1945 to Herman and Cecilia Uhlig, Eileen was the youngest of six children. She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings and their spouses Jack (Frances) Uhlig and Marcella (John) Sobczak. She was the proud mother of Father James Wehner (New Orleans) and Gregory Wehner (Pittsburgh). Eileen is survived by siblings Selma Uhlig, Denny (Yvonne) Uhlig and Claire (John) Salvatore. She will be remembered fondly as Aunt Eye Ball by her many nephews, nieces, cousins and great nephews and nieces. Eileen generously gave her time to her Troy Hill community, especially Most Holy Name of Jesus Church, where she enjoyed calling bingo, working the church’s annual summer festival and organizing retreats for the Christian Mothers. Before and after her retirement with the Allegheny County Recorder of Deeds, she was a long-time volunteer with local politics. With an infectious laugh, Eileen will be remembered for her natural ability to talk to anyone she met, her love of music, and her talent to remember the lyrics of every song she knew. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Saint Anthony Chapel, 1700 Harpster Street, Pgh, PA 15212. Family and friends will be received at Most Holy Name Church on Friday, August 9 from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m., with the Mass of Christian Burial at Noon. Arrangements entrusted to the HUGHES FUNERAL HOME, INC., Troy Hill. Please visit her online guest book at www.hughesfhinc.com.
